Set up in 2011, the endowment is a 501(c)(3) through the UW-Madison Foundation specifically for the Hodags. This means that donations to this account are tax-deductible. Prior to donating, it is HIGHLY encouraged to see if your place of work will match the tax-deductible donation. The link will also give you the option to set up monthly recurring donations.
For the endowment to become professionally invested by the Foundation, a $25,000 must be reached. For the time being, the Hodags will withdraw only the minimum amount of money from the account to help with seasonal costs. Essentially, this would give you the tax-deductible benefit while giving us the flexibility to resort to the funds if need be. We hope to continue to build this endowment in many years to come in the hopes of providing a more affordable season for our athletes.
